Description of McKinley Park
A mix of industry and greenery, the McKinley Park Community Area feels somewhat remote in places. Just to the east of today's Brighton Park community, McKinley Park itself, with admired early 20th-Century architecture and gorgeous landscaping including a lagoon, occupies land where the 19th-Century Brighton Park Racetrack once stood. Just beyond it stands the landmark Pershing Road Manufacturing District, recognized by its signature brick tower.
