Description of Near North Side
Visitors to the Near North will want to make a point of strolling north along Michigan Avenue, taking in the shops, then stopping for a refresher at the stately Drake Hotel. An evening wander along the mansions of the Gold Coast's Astor Street might be next, followed by dinner and a show in Old Town; or make a day of the River North's galleries and an evening of Rush Street's bars and clubs. Don't miss out on the Catholic and Episcopal cathedrals in the Cathedral District, and lovely Newberry Library in Washington Square.
