Archer Heights
Go to: Facts - See What's Here
Running along Archer Road just northeast of Midway airport, Archer Heights mixes commercial venues and residential neighborhoods with an ambience evocative of the mid-20th Century. Historically Eastern European, especially Polish, as well as Italian, Archer Heights has seen a number of Hispanics in later years concurrent with demographic trends on the Southwest Side, although a good number of its shops still cater to the Polish population, not unlike in Belmont Central. Manufacturing remains a driving force of the economy here, but Archer Heights also shares features in common with more suburban Garfield Ridge to the southeast.
