More than three-fourths Hispanic in 2000 (almost double the percentage of 1990), Brighton Park has a community character deep with religion and local nuance, with a concentration of churches, schools, and a wide variety of architecture in its commercial and residential low-rises. Once a significant industrial center, Brighton Park's future appears to be in commerce or simply in affirming its identity as a vibrant residential area with a tightly-knit local character.
