A world of 19th-Century churches and 21st-Century highrises, Chicago's newly-dubbed "Cathedral District" may be the most fashionable residential area in the downtown area today. Two cathedrals -- Holy Name (Catholic) and St. James (Episcopal) grace the area, as well as the Fourth Presbyterian Church -- a gothic-like structure reminiscent of a monastery. The area is also not far from Washington Square where the Newberry Library and the Scottish Rite Cathedral (once the famous Unity Church but now a Masonic facility) stand.
