The Grand Boulevard community area on Chicago's South Side is part of the larger neighborhood today known as Bronzeville, an area central to the history and culture of many of Chicago's African-Americans. Although evidence of the Grand Boulevard area's one-time splendor can still be found in its numerous Queen Anne, Renaissance Revival, Classical Revival, and Romanesque Revival buildings, much of the locale is today in economic decline.
