Hyde Park
Go to: Facts - Landmarks
Intended originally as an elite enclave like its New York namesake, this neighborhood evolved over the decades into one of Chicago's most diverse, dynamic, and phsysically appealing. With the University of Chicago as its cultural nucleus, but also anchored by landmarks such as Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House (just east of the University) and the Museum of Science and Industry in Jackson Park (close to the lakeshore), Hyde Park offers an enchanted brocade of landmarks, cultural institutions and vibrant parklands. For residents and visitors alike, the tree-draped streets weave stunning vintage houses together with appealing restaurants and bookstores to make Hyde Park a kingdom unto itself.
