The Lincoln Square community area actually includes the much larger Ravenswood neighborhood, but the name "Lincoln Square" has become associated with a the small promenade near the intersection of Western and Lincoln. This stretch is now Chicago's show place for German culture, heritage, and language, and boasts a Bavarian-style May Pole, a mural depicting famous places in Germany, and several German-themed shops and restauarants.
