Critics of the University of Illinois at Chicago's massive late 20th-Century expansion say that it wreaked havoc on Little Italy and Greektown, but both neighborhoods have regrouped and remade themselves as culture-themed attractions. Today's Little Italy is basically a row of Italian restaurants and shops along Taylor Street just West of the University, in a neighborhood which is perhaps not its "old self", but still very much worth a visit.
