Along with the Loop, the Magnificent Mile is Chicago's highest-profile area - the commercial artery of the Near North and home of some of Chicago's most exclusive retail. Crossing the bridge from the south along Michigan Avenue, one at once encounters the duo of vintage buildings perhaps most quintessentially Chicago: the shining Renaissance-revival Wrigley Building, and the imposing gothic Tribune Tower. The historic Chicago Water Tower and the elegant 100-story John Hancock Building crown the Magnificent Mile at its north end. [More]
