An increasingly diverse suburb currently attractive to those from Poland, Russia, and Korea, among other countries, only 56% of Niles' residents were English-speakers at the time of the 2000 census. Niles is just north of Chicago's border, near to Skokie, Lincolnwood, and Morton Grove. The community offers services appealing to its residents and is more commercially developed than the residential Chicago neighborhoods immediately to its south. [More]
< A half-scale replica of the Leaning Tower of Pisa sits along Touhy Avenue adjacent to the "Leaning Tower YMCA" in Niles, just north of Chicago's Edgebrook neighborhood. It was originally built in 1932 as a water tower for swimming pools.
