Traditionally well-known for its Jewish heritage, but today popular among Asians and Eastern Europeans of all creeds, Skokie is a solid mix of commercial, residential, and industrial. It has a quaint suburban downtown, draws shoppers to the stylish Old Orchard Shopping Center, celebrates outdoor art at a Sculpture Park along the river, and hosts a large industrial area.
